DNS server issues.

I have a virtual environment set up with several VM's and 2 firewalls. I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 and have the following roles set up: Active  Directory Lightweight Services, DNS Server, and Web Server (IIS). The problem is with the DNS server. I get 4 errors and a warning everytime the VM is started. Event ID's are 408, 404, 408, 407.

408: The DNS server could not open socket for address 172.16.1.101.

404: The DNS server could not bind a Transmission Control Protocol socket to address 172.16.1.101.

408: repeat error for some reason.

407: The DNS server could not bind a User Datagram Protocol socket to 172.16.1.101.

I believe this is keeping me from having a functioning environment. Let me give a brief overview of the environment.

I have 3 vm's, 2 firewall vm's, and 3 virtual networks. the firewalls each have an inbound and outbound network. the network diagram looks something like this:

local01[internalNetwork]---InternalFw---DMZ01[middleNetwork]---ExternalFw---Remote[externalNetwork]

The local01 vm is the one with the DNS errors. It needs to be able to see through the firewall and hit a local webpage on the DMZ. The firewall is configured correctly, but the VM still doesn't get through. I'm betting the DNS is at fault here.

Any idea how to clear up these errors.
